Day 06- Not a care in the world!

Day six is about my ideal day.... On my ideal day I would wake when I was ready! I would take a shower and get ready. On my ideal day I wouldn’t be having a bad hair day, a huge zit on my face, or anything else! I would look cute, and feel totally confident about myself. On my ideal day I would go to the beach and read a book while listening to the waves. I would drink a diet coke! I would talk to someone who made me laugh until my sides hurt. I would go on a life changing adventure! I would talk to someone who I hadn't talked to in a while. I would do something that no one else has ever done. I would help someone in need. I would spend time with my family and friends. I would eat chocolate. I would watch a movie cuddled up in a blanket with my jammies on. Everything would go my way, I would be in the best mood, and so would everyone around me! I wouldn’t have a care in the world! My life would be so goooood!

Day 05- I Think We're Alone Now

Sorry I took a few days off from my challenge! Today I am supposed to be writing a song to match my mood...The song matching my mood right now is I think we are alone now! And not because the words have anything to do with my mood... It’s just I am in this totally 80’s mood! I am so jealous of people who grew up in the eighties. (I mean look at those bangs!) It is my ultimate dream to spend a day in the 80’s! Plus this song is really good! It is catchy and easy to dance to! :)

Day 4- My mom and family

Day 4 is about your parents… but I noticed that we don’t have any about our family so I am just going to do it all today!

My mom

She is an amazing woman! She is kind and sweet, and so understanding. She helps her kids, loves them, and never stops caring about them. I know sometimes I don’t listen to her, or take her advice but I know she will always love me. I have the notorious reputation of calling her Sherri… Most the time I just do it to bug her ;) But really when I call someone by their first name it means I respect them. She is amazing and I have so much love and respect for her.

Jeremy
He is my oldest brother. He is really smart, fun, and a great big brother. He loves music and I love it when he shares it with me. Although I do remember getting teased by him when we were younger, I think our relationship has gotten a lot better since then. He is an amazing dad, husband, brother, and great man. He was always the man of the house, and I look up to him in so many ways, and am glad to call him my big brother.

Meg

Meg is Jeremy’s wife. She is such an wonderful women. She is so kind, and I am so glad that she joined our family. She is so smart, and has helped me my Math many times. She is such an amazing photographer. I have recently had the opportunity to work with her for my internship class. We have fun, and she has already taught me so much!

Jason

I miss Jason so much! He is a great big brother. I have so many memories of him! He really taught me about music, animals, and how to lighten up and have fun. Sometimes it feels like I haven’t seen him in ages, but then I will remember things and it will feel like I just saw him yesterday. It is good to know that he is up above watching out for me. I can’t wait to see him again, and catch up!

Courtney
She is a wonderful woman! She is so nice, and fun. She has been a great blessing to us. I am so glad that she is my sister-in-law. I wish that we spent more time together, but the times we have are fun.  She is so strong, and such a wonderful inspiration to all of us!

Crysta

She is my gorgeous older sister. I love to spend time with her and just talk to her. She is really nice, and a great listener. It is because of her that I joined choir! I remember thinking how cool she was when I was little; I wanted to be like her. She is an amazing mother, and wife! She is an amazing woman, and I love having her as my big sister!

Ryan
He is such a funny guy! Crysta is lucky to have him. I respect him so much. He has really taught me that you can really find decent men out there! I think he is a wonderful brother-in-law and I am so happy that he is part of my family. he is such a nice guy. He works really hard to provide for his family, and I respect him very much.

Sarah

Growing up we were the best of friends. I remember always wishing to be her twin! She is a great big sister, and I look up to her so much. She has taught me so much about life, and how to have fun and go crazy. Although we have had our history of fights, we are really close and I love her very much! Now she has a boyfriend, a job, and a busy life so we don't spend has much time together... But she is moving back home for a little bit and I am super excited! I guess you could call her boyfriend Jason apart of our family. He is crazy, but nice. I hope that he becomes a permanent part of our family soon!! :)

Danielle

She is the baby of the family! I love her so much. She is so crafty and responsible. I think we must have been switched by accident, because she acts older than me! She has gorgeous long brown curls that are so adorable. She and I are the only ones left at home, and so we hang out a ton. She has helped become a better person, and taught me how to be more responsible.

Alexis

Otherwise known as “Diva muffin” She is such a cutie! I love this little girl. She has made my life so much better. It is weird to think how life would be without her. She loves to sing, dance, and play. We have so much fun together. I love to spend time with her. She is one of my cuddle buggles and I love when we have sleepovers! She is such a wonderful little lady! I love that I get to be apart of her life.

Brecken

Brecken is such a sweet little boy. He is so cute! He says the funniest things that make me laugh. He is definitely the funniest kid I know. He is going to be an amazing man, I am excited to see him grow up. Although I hope he grows up slowly! I want him to be my cuddle buggle forever!!

Oliva
She is the cutest!! I love this little baby. She is such a sweetheart. Even when she hits you in the head with a book, she will always give you a kiss and rub it later. She is funny, and the weirdest things make her laugh. She loves animals! Especially puppies that lick her in the face; she thinks it is so funny! I am so glad that I am her Aunt!

Lincoln

He is still so tiny! I love him so much! I feel that we have a special bond since I got to watch him while his mommy was in getting her surgeries! For some reason I call him my little boo boo! Is hair drives me crazy! It is so adorable! I can’t wait to get to know him better and I am so happy that we are family!!!

Well that is my family for now! (I am sure there will more like five more in the next three years) I love them all so very much and I hope they all know it! They are the best. They have really made me who I am today. They amaze me everyday. Sometimes they drive me crazy, but I wouldn’t trade them for the world!

Day 3- My First Love

Okay this may be the cheesiest post ever, so bear with me!! My first love seems like ages ago... I was sixteen and he was a year younger than me. I remember feeling my heart beat faster and my stomach drop when I saw him in the hall, when he would text me, or when I saw him in our English class. I remember feeling so weird about the whole situation, but I felt so happy when I was with him. His mom hated me, so in order to hang out with me he would lie, and we would go on joy rides around the town. Our favorite place was a park near his house. We would sit in the car listening to Colbie Caillat, holding hands, talking for hours.

We decided we were going to make a club house out of my garage. We cleaned it all out. It was so much fun! I miss that kid. He was so sweet and kind and he taught me so much about life, love, and how to have fun. I never told him how I felt, we were friends and I didn’t want anything to change between us. We were too young to be anything more serious and I was too old for him. In the end it didn’t work out (do first loves ever work out?!) But we had fun while it lasted. He may have broken my heart, but I can’t be mad at him. He showed me that you can open your heart and let people in.

Day 2- Forever

The second day of my challenge is to write about my blog name and why I chose it. I thought forever about the perfect name for my blog. I wanted something cute and fun that fit my personality. I thought it would be really cool to have a song phrase as my blog name. So I was searching the lyrics of “Put your Records on” by Corinne Bailey Rae, and found “just go ahead, let your hair down!” I loved it and it just fit so perfectly!  Here are the lyrics you should really listen to the song. Thanks to my big brother Jeremy for introducing me to this song and most of the songs that I love!

Three little birds, sat on my window.
And they told me I don't need to worry.
Summer came like cinnamon
So sweet,
Little girls double-dutch on the concrete.

Maybe sometimes, we've got it wrong, but it's alright
The more things seem to change, the more they stay the same
Oh, don't you hesitate.

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

Blue as the sky, sun burnt and lonely,
Sipping tea in the bar by the roadside,
(just relax, just relax)
Don't you let those other boys fool you,
Got to love that afro hair do.

Maybe sometimes, we feel afraid, but it's alright
The more you stay the same, the more they seem to change.
Don't you think it's strange?

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

You're gonna find yourself somewhere, somehow.

'Twas more than I could take, pity for pity's sake
Some nights kept me awake, I thought that I was stronger
When you gonna realize, that you don't even have to try any longer?
Do what you want to.

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

Girl, put your records on, tell me your favorite song
You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams,
Just go ahead, let your hair down.

Day 1- Me!

I am taking the thirty day blog challenge with my friend Shaunie Peterson. We kind of made our own challenge and the first day is to introduce yourself with a picture and fifteen facts about you. So here goes…

My name is Lauren Marie Turner. Ever since I was a little lady my favorite color has been yellow. I just love it! It reminds me of sunshine, bananas, and lemonade. I am very opinionated, but I like to keep the peace. I am a totally girly girl, but most people say I dress ‘preppy’…

I am a senior this year and like many people around here I am UVU bound. I am excited to graduate and get started on life outside of high school. I am really close to my family and love them with all my heart. I know I would not have made it this far with out them.

I am a reader. I love to read! I love fantasy books, but will really read anything. My favorite animal is a giraffe, but I haven’t actually seen one in real life… but the little cartoon ones are just so cute! I hang out with my little sister and her friends most the time, I know I am so cool. I love them so much, and they make me laugh. I have a dog named Chester, and I love him so much! My favorite days of the week are Friday-Sunday.. Especially Sundays because I get to play with my little Snuggle Buggles (Lexi, Brecken, Olivia, and my little boo boo).

I do have friends my age... And they are great! We have a special bench we sit at, and most people call it the relief society bench (Due to the fact that we are all girls and we cross our legs a lot)

I have a dinosaur sandwich protector box. I have pink Cow girl boots and they are my absolute favorite. I also have an owl necklace that I wear most all the time. (My neck has started to feel naked with out it) I go through phones faster than I do shoes.. I am working on not beating them up so badly.

I love all types of animals. Music is my life. I love choir! I also love to listen to my Zune. I am way too cool for an iPod ;) And I am pretty sure that is more or less 15 facts about me!!
